WATER AND SEWERAGE SYSTEM – PRIORITY

During the end of the last year the works on the construction of secondary water system in Gabrovac were completed. Then it was agreed that old water system, constructed 40 years ago, after the connection of all the citizens of this settlement to new water system, can be closed. The obligation was that about 450 households in Gabrovac sign the contracts with Public Enterprise `Naisus`. Unfortunately beside the benefits of deferred payment of compensation for water connection on twelve rates this obligation was completed around 150 households. In the period from July 2011 to July 2012 because of not paid bills for water came also the obligation in the amount of 2,5 million dinars in interest. Economic crisis, unemployment provoked that this activity stops. On this occasion, delegation of Gabrovac wanted help from Palilula Municipality.
Boban Dzunic president of Municipality answered the call of the people in the terrain and spoke with the representatives of this community. Gabrovac village is in the bottom of Selicevica Mountain on south range of Nis valley, through which Gabrovacka river goes.
Beside the problem with water people living there emphasized the problem of sewerage system. Dusan Stojadinovic, Dragan Djordjevic, Krsta Djordjevic spoke about the problems. Because of outflow of sewerage system old water system is also jeopardized that is still in use. About the pollution of the river we should not speak at all said the representatives of local community.
Programme of construction of communal infrastructure in village area of Palilula Municipality successfully is being realized – emphasized Dzunic. Thanks to the efforts of Palilula authorities, good cooperation with Public Enterprise `Naisus` and efforts of our citizens, I expect that this current state in the field should be overcome. Palilula Municipality in many cases was a mediator in purchasing reservoirs and reconstruction of rural sewerage systems and necessary equipment. We provided more reservoirs of capacity 56,000 liters that were plugged in water systems in Krusce, Berbatovo and Vukmanovo. We will put efforts that people of Gabrovac have bigger participation – support of the City, Public Enterprise Naisus, Public Enterprise Directorate for city planning and construction. Within the activities on creating new Programme of development of the City of Nis for 2013 and taking into account territory of the municipal territory of Palilula and about that I` ve spoken to Branislav Jovanovic, executive director of the Directorate this morning. Very soon I will have some return information about the possibilities and dynamics of support and initiative of citizens.
President Dzunic visited also `Branko Radicevic` primary school. According to Glorija Radojcic, primary school head master words, about the equipment, work conditions and highly professional human resources, it is one of better equipped village schools in this area. The lectures are in old school building adapted for the needs of lecturing. However, it is necessary to paint sport hall, repair part of window frames said the head master to the president.
Branko Miljkovic school in Gabrovac has capacity for 150 pupils from first to eight grade. This school has also class of longer extended stay for the pupils from first to fourth grade, and also one group of pre- school children. Schools in Vukmanovo and Berbatovo are joined schools to this one.
